Span Master Manual Cableway

HyQuest Solutions’ Span Master SMK1 Travellerway is used to perform water discharge measurement with ADCP technology. The unit was designed to aid in water discharge measurement where simple cableway installation is required to drive the ADCP across the river and back.
The Span Master consists of a manual winch complete with metric or imperial counter, far side sheave assembly and traveller block. Both the operating winch and the far side sheave assembly are supplied complete with a mounting bracket to suit 100 mm NB pipe. The Span Master is used in conjunction with an ADCP (not included) to measure water profile across the river. A 10 kg stabilizing weight (see flipside) can be used in order to keep the ADCP from tilting nose up in fast flow or to avoid it from flipping upside down when water current is turbulent.
The winch is manually operated at a desired speed by the operator, with distance measured on the mechanical counter. It is used to drive the ADCP from one side of the river to the other with one of these methods: The first method is to perform point measurement at different sections of the river. The second method is to drive the ADCP at a constant speed slower than the water speed so that the ADCP can measure the water profile across the stream cross section.

Travellerway 

Stabilizing weight (10 kg)

The weight keeps the ADCP from tilting nose up in fast flow and prevents it from flipping upside down when water current is turbulent.
