HyQuest Solutions’ bed load sampler BLSH is an easy-to-use hand-held sampler for measuring and analysing coarse sand, silt, gravel, rock or other insoluble materials carried by a stream on or immediately above its bed.

The bed load samplers are designed for use in natural streams to determine rate of sediment concentration relative to flow.

Samples are collected in a polyester mono filament bag of 0.2 mesh to A.S.T.M. specifications for uniformity, resistance abrasion and wear. It will not absorb water. A bag clamp secures the bag to the aluminium body.

The BLSH is supplied with wading rods (1 m) for lowering and holding the sampler in the stream or river. The rods are fitted with plastic handles at the top end for easier grip. With the inside threads more sections (0.5 m) can be screwed together to lengthen the rod if needed.
